My name is Amie Deitel and I am an Associate Marriage Family Therapist. My passion is relationship-building and guiding clients through the therapeutic process with empathic understanding, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. Drawing on client-centered and trauma-informed practices, I help clients understand, identify and express their needs by providing a trusting, relaxed, non-judgmental safe place for individuals, families, and couples to share what is precious and scary, and to examine the meaning behind what fuels big reactions and problematic symptoms.
My approach to supporting couples therapy is informed by the Gottman Method, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy. Clients can also expect a blend of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to build an enhanced understanding of their personal healing journey, tap into their inner strength, and learn effective coping skills. I incorporate the principles of nonviolent communication to support enhanced empathic communication for improved quality of life. I am also an advocate of evidence-based modalities like EMDR therapy, a treatment shown to be helpful with clients healing from PTSD from trauma in addition to clients seeking relief from anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and addictions. Your peace-of-mind is just a phone call or email away.
My degrees include a B.A. in history from UCLA, an MBA from Pepperdine, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University Worldwide.
